Your Sins Erased Here Daily.

By February 8, 2012 No Comments

I recently saw this photo floating around the facebook world and have been meditating on it all week. I am constantly thinking about ways Sunday morning worship can truly become the work of the people and I think this would be an option to consider. Maybe it would be great to have a board like this up all year long and have someone erase it daily? What a powerful visual reminder of God’s grace.

For my community I would change the title to this:

Your fears/sins/mistakes/worries erased here in the abundant grace of God. God loves YOU.

Can we ever grow tired of hearing that?

I turn to Hafiz and Rumi quite frequently in my meditations. Hafiz, like this image, reminds me of the graciousness of God. Even as a pastor I need to be reminded of this, frequently.

Every child has known God,
Not the God of names,
Not the God of don’ts,
Not the God who ever does anything weird,
But the God who knows only 4 words.
And keeps repeating them, saying “Come Dance with Me, come dance.

– Hafiz
